Big Bullets cautious

Kalisto Pasuwa

Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa has asked his charges to exercise caution ahead of two crucial assignments against Moyale Barracks and Mzuzu Warriors this weekend.

Smarting from two consecutive defeats in the Cecafa Cup and FDH Bank Cup, Bullets start the Northern Region tour against Moyale at Mzuzu Stadium this afternoon before meeting relegation threatened Mzuzu Warriors at the same venue Sunday.

Bullets lost 1-0 to Express FC of Uganda in the Cecafa Cup final before exiting the FDH Bank Cup following 4-2 loss to Silver Strikers on post-match penalties on Wednesday.

But Pasuwa, who is gunning for his third straight title, believes his troops were in the right frame of mind to bounce back from the bad result.

“We know what we are expecting from the two games. We have been talking to the players to concentrate throughout the match to get maximum points,” he said.

Against Silver, majority of Bullets players showed some signs of tiredness towards the end of the match.

Bullets desperately need maximum points to increase their chances of defending the TNM Super League championship as they are top with 48 points from 22 matches, two points above Silver, who have played two more matches.

The Bankers face Blue Eagles Sunday in a league match.

This afternoon’s match presents Moyale with a perfect opportunity to avenge the 5-0 loss they suffered in the first round.

Moyale Assistant Coach Pritchard Mwansa said revenge will be their mission.

“We have rectified the problems we noted against TN Stars and we hope we will collect maximum points,” he added.

The soldiers are fifth, with 37 points from 24 matches.

In other matches, Mighty Wanderers will face Ntopwa FC at Mpira Stadium. The Nomads are third on the log table with 41 points from 23 matches whereas Ntopwa are second from bottom with 20 points from 26 matches.

Elsewhere, Civil Service United will face Mafco at Civo Stadium whereas TN Stars host Mighty Tigers. Karonga United will be in action against Kamuzu Barracks at Karonga Stadium.
