Big Bullets face a tricky semifinal fixture in their quest to win the Standard Bank Cup for the first time as they face Civo United Thursday at Kamuzu Stadium.

Civo arrived in Blantyre yesterday and they trained at Escom Ground in readiness for this afternoon’s swim-or-sink encounter.

Civo coach, Oscar Kaunda, said his charges were ready to face Bullets.

Kaunda said they were looking for a consolation after starting badly in the TNM Super League and failing to grab the Carlsberg Cup this season.

Kaunda admitted that Bullets, having a big fan base in Blantyre, would be a tough nut to crack.

“We are in town to face Bullets. I am sure this is a game we need to win at all cost. We have been playing Bullets in the past but this is a different game. All my players have responded well to the training,” Kaunda said.

However, Bullets technical director, Billy Tewesa, said the team was eying the Standard Bank glory as they are yet to win the cup since its inception in 2009.

“Our preparations have been going on well. Everybody is aware that Bullets have never won the Standard Bank Cup. We will go flat-out. Our striker Chiukepo (Msowoya) is back (from injury) and this is a morale booster,” Tewesa said.

Another semi final will be played on Saturday in Lilongwe at the Civo Stadium where Be Forward Wanderers will take on Blue Eagles.
