By Williams Gondwa:

Nyasa Big Bullets are scheduled to commence preparations for their return to the Caf Champions League with a match against JKU of Zanzibar at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre this afternoon.

This will be Bullets’ first match since the firing of head coach Rodgers Yasin and his assistant Eliya Kananji.

Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa, who is doubling as assistant coach, said the interim technical panel is excited with the task of leading the team into the match.

Chilapondwa said preparations for the match progressed well throughout the week and the players are in good shape.

“The players gave us a great welcome as we took up our new roles in training. Starting with such a match is a huge task and we know that it will not be easy. It will be a great match and it is our hope that we will come out victorious.

“We do not know them but we have watched some of their videos clips on the internet and at least we know what to expect. But we are taking this as a litmus test and we must win to prove that we are capable of doing a good job for the team,” Chilapondwa said.

Bullets last participated in the continental showpiece in 2015 when they were booted out in the preliminary round.
