TNM Super League defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa has said his troops must exercise caution when facing Mafco FC at Civo Stadium this afternoon.

The two teams had contrasting fortunes in their respective matches over the Easter Holidays.

Bullets claimed maximum points after beating Mzuzu Warriors 3-0 on Saturday and Mighty Tigers 2-0 on Monday whereas Mafco collected just one point from two matches following a 2-2 draw against Karonga United before losing 1-0 to Chitipa United.

However, both sides might be aware that this afternoon’s clash will be a different match.

Morale might be high in Bullets’ camp following the two victories but the soldiers have potential to stop them. Pasuwa was optimistic of getting a positive result.

“We are facing a good team that plays good football. Last time we met, they gave us tough run for our money. Away matches are always difficult and we need t o be cautious,” Pasuwa, who is gunning for a third straight win for the first time this season said.

The two teams are just separated by one point on the log table as Bullets are on position five with 18 points from nine matches whereas Mafco are sixth with 17 points from 11 matches.

Mafco Coach Temwa Msuku said he had done his homework following poor results in the Northern Region.

“We know their strengths and weakness. Our aim is to capitalise on their weaknesses,” Msuku said.

Both sides boast of talent as Bullets will hope that striker Zicco Nkanda will continue with his scoring form. Chimwemwe Idana and Misheck Selemani can cause plenty of problems to the soldiers.

On the other hand, Mafco will rely on Paul Phiri, Joseph Donsa and Jailosi Kapalamula.

At Kamuzu Stadium, Mighty Wanderers will be hoping for quick response as they host Chitipa United this afternoon.

The Nomads lost 1-0 to Moyale Barracks just 24 hours after beating Ekwendeni Hammers 2-1 at Mzuzu Stadium over Easter.

Second-placed Civil Service United have a chance to reclaim top spot if they beat Migh ty Tigers at Chiwembe Ground whereas TN Stars will meet Karonga United at Kasungu Ground.

Civil are the only unbeaten side in the league this season having collected 20 points from 10 matches, two points behind leaders Silver Strikers, who are on bye this weekend.
