Zomba-based Nyasa Big Bullets fans donated assorted items to patients in three wards at Zomba Central Hospital (ZCH) over the weekend.
The items included washing powder, toothpaste, salt, bathing and washing soap.
The fans’ chairperson, Robert Jonas, said they made the donation to help patients at the referral hospital meet some of their daily needs.
“It is important for us to embark on charitable activities to help those in need. We made contributions among ourselves to raise the money that we used for buying the items,” Jonas said.
The supporters donated the items to kangaroo, paediatric and tuberculosis wards.
The hospital’s paediatric ward nurse-in-charge, Agatha Rusuwa, commended the supporters for their gesture.
“Patients and guardians at a hospital like this one need help in terms of groceries and other necessities. Bullets fans have set an example worth emulating,” Rusuwa said.
