Premier Bet Wizards should start preparing for life without influential midfielder, Tilekeleni ‘Anzeru’ Joseph and rock-steady defender, Ian Chinyama, as Nyasa Big Bullets want to recall the duo from their loan spells at the end of the season.
Bullets Interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, confirmed that they want to recall the duo because their performance has improved.
“We wanted them to go to a team that could give them game-time and we are pleased with their current form. We will be recalling them when the season ends,” Chigoga said, adding that the Elia Kananji-led coaching panel was monitoring the players’ performance.
Bullets loaned out Anzeru and Chinyama to Wizards at the start of the season due to stiff competition for places at the People’s Team.
But the players have since established themselves in Wizards’ starting line-up and helped the team to finish on position 10 with 19 points from 15 games in the first-round of the league.
Chinyama even swayed Malawi National Football Team Coach, Ronny van Geneugden, to include him in the Cosafa Castle Cup squad in South Africa last June.
Wizards owner and Technical Director, Peter Mponda, said he would beef up his squad as he expects Bullets to recall the duo.
Anzeru could be a worthy addition to Bullets’ midfield that lost slippery Dalitso Sailesi to Zambian side, Lusaka Dynamos, in July.
But Chinyama will have to sweat for a left-back position in the Bullets’ defence that has experienced campaigners such as Yamikani Fodya and Emmanuel Zoya.
