Big Bullets, Nomads players excused from Flames camp
Flames coach, Ernest Mtawali, says Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers players will be excused from the national football team’s preparations when the squad regroups tomorrow.
Bullets and Wanderers meet in Carlsberg Cup final at Civo Stadium this Saturday.
Both teams have contributed players to the Flames, who are preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against
Swaziland on September 6. Wanderers have contributed goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa, right-back Stanley Sanudi and midfielder Isaac Kaliati, whereas Bullets have supplied
Pilirani Zonda, Fischer Kondowe, Jaffalie Chande, Chiukepo Msowoya, Yamikani Fodya and Dalitso Sailesi.
Mtawali, speaking after his charges came from behind to beat Airtel Rising Stars Select Side 2-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, said the Flames would regroup on Wednesday minus players for both Wanderers and Bullets.
“They will not join us until they are done with the final. In mind, we know which players we want from the two teams.
However, we will not disclose names now. Otherwise, the rest of the players have been released and they will return for camping on Wednesday,” he said.
Mtawali and assistant coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, replaced Young Chimodzi and Jack Chamangwana whose contracts were not renewed in June.
