Big Bullets optimistic on ID drive

BY MPHATSO MALIDADI:

Nyasa Big Bullets have challenged their fans to support the revived membership drive which is expected to generate extra income for the team.

With the guidance of majority shareholder, Nyasa Manufacturing Company, the People’s Team, on Wednesday, re-launched the programme in Blantyre after the initial project collapsed.

Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, who was accompanied by directors Albert Chigoga, Stone Mwamadi, Moyenda Kanjerwa and Dimitri Kalaitzis, said the membership cards are in categories of Maule (worth K1,000), Silver (K25,000), Gold (K50,000) and Platinum (K100,000).

The cards have benefits such as insurance cover and access to the club’s mobile platforms and match venues.

Bullets will run a series of activities ahead of their Airtel Top 8 final match against Blue Eagles, set for Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday, so as to sensitise the fans on the need to buy the cards.

Haiya said the cards will be produced at regional, district and zonal levels.

“The period [of the collapsed membership registration exercise] has expired and we only registered 786 members, yet we boast that we have a large following. Time is gone for the club to just gone about claiming that it has over six million members without establishing a supporters’ database,” he said.

Haiya hopes that Bullets can register more supporters because the process has been made easier after Nyasa bought an ID processing machine.

Bullets Supporters Director, Mwamadi, said they will sensitise their fans on the importance of buying the IDs.
