Big Bullets ‘release’ Fischer Kondowe
If veteran winger Fischer Kondowe was merely testing the waters in pressing for Nyasa Big Bullets’ termination of his contract, then it has backfired.
Bullets interim General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, Friday confirmed that the team’s executive committee had accepted the wish of Kondowe, who is frustrated over an outstanding signing-on fee estimated at K3 million.
“He decided on his own to terminate his contract and we have decided to allow him to go and re-launch his career elsewhere.
“However, immediately we gave him the letter accepting the termination, he insisted that he did not mean to quit. It seems he was testing the waters and if he wants to return, there are steps he has to take,” Chigoga said.
Earlier Friday, Kondowe said he asked for the termination of his contract because he did not want to continue fighting with the executive committee, adding that he hopes to still play for Bullets.
In 2013, Kondowe also quit Bullets for a week and started training with rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, only to make a u-turn.
