TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets are under intense pressure to tie down 2019 player of the season, Peter Banda, to a long term deal after Silver Strikers joined the race for his signature.
Silver, having missed Banda on signing last season, have reportedly made a lucrative offer to lure the Flames youngster to the Capital City.
Bullets are reportedly offering K3 million signing on fee to turn Banda’s loan deal into a long term contract. The Peoples Team are also offering K300,000 salary to the Griffin Young Stars midfielder.
However, the Bankers are reportedly offering more than K4 million signing on fee to the player. Silver also want to make Banda one of their highest paid players.
Banda’s Manager and Uncle, Griffin Saenda junior, confirmed that Silver were also after the player.
“Of course both Bullets and Silver made offers. So we will evaluate both offers in terms of value both on and off the pitch. It is our desire that Peter should also get a chance to further his education. As for Bullets I can confirm those figures but there is more that happens in a deal. We are not rushing because we are also evaluating other international offers,” he said.
Banda’s loan deal at Bullets will expire on March 31 having joined the People’s Team when the 2019 season had just kicked off.
Bullets Chief Administration Officer, Albert Chigoga, said they were determined to keep Banda and other players whose contracts were about to expire.
“We have made good strides. As of Sunday last week, we were at 90 percent. We are pretty sure that the young star will sign a new permanent deal,” he said.
Silver Board Chairperson, Victor Mandlopa, could neither confirm nor deny on whether the Bankers dangled an appetising offer for Banda’s signature.
“We are not in a position to make any statement,” Mandlopa said before switching the subject.
New Silver Coach, Daniel Kabwe, wants his bosses to seal the deal quickly to enable Banda join pre-season training.
Banda has underwent trials in Belgium and South Africa [with both Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits].
