Nyasa Big Bullets Supporters Committee has intensified its membership registration drive throughout the country.
The committee’s Vice General Secretary, Watson Masika, on Wednesday said the exercise was aimed at raising money for the team.
“As supporters, it is our duty to contribute something to the team. We also want to have an actual data of our supporters in the country, not just sympathisers,” he said.
The committee is registering the fans in venues such as training grounds.
“We also want to strengthen the committee in the zones so as to increase our membership base. We have people who follow the team but do not have a chance to contribute to the welfare of the players. This will be a chance to reach out to them,” Masika added.
Bullets General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, commended the initiative.
“This is an initiative which has the full weight of our Executive Committee. Every supporter has an obligation to help the team in any way possible,” he said.
“We are also trying to separate foxes from sheep. Not everyone should just wake up and think he or she can be allowed to watch our team’s training. Some people have ulterior motives when they come to our training base, so this initiative is two-fold—to raise funds for the club and to filter people who patronise our activities.”
The registration also took place during the annual general meeting (AGM) held in Zomba recently.
