After a sluggish start to the season, Nyasa Big Bullets have suspended Head Coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadan for four games with immediate effect.

In the interim, the People’s Team has elevated Eliya Kananji to take charge of the team.

Bullets General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, confirmed the suspension of the Burundian, saying the move was meant to give him a chance to recharge.

“We want him to refresh because the results have been pathetic. We are concerned with the performance of the team and we hope that after his suspension, he will come back with fresh ideas. Let me make it clear that this is only a suspension. He remains our head coach,” Chigoga said.

Bullets had a miserable outing last week when they returned to Blantyre with a single point after losing 1-0 to Blue Eagles before being held to a goal-less draw by rookies Masters Security FC on Sunday.

Probably, last week’s results have had a big impact on the club’s decision to suspend Ramadhan.

The former Flames coach could not answer his mobile phone yesterday after several attempts.

Bullets have been bad travellers this season, having collected only two points in four outings.

Since the start of the season, Bullets have struggled to find the back of the net despite having seven strikers on their books.

The team lies third in the TNM Super League with 11 points from seven games.
