Nyasa Big Bullets have extended contracts for six players until the end of the season.

The players namely; Chiukepo Msowoya, Mike Mkwate, Precious Phiri, John Lanjesi, Yamikani Fodya and Henry Kabichi have agreed to extend their contracts by seven months after their deals expired on January 31.

However, midfielders Chimango Kaira and Patrick Phiri were yet to sign contract extensions as reports suggest they were still consulting.

Bullets Chief Administrator Albert Chigoga was optimistic that all the players would extend their deals until the end of the season.

“We will be engaging the players individually so that we discuss new contracts within seven months. For now, other details are not for public consumption,” he said yesterday.

Msowoya, Mkwate, Kabichi, Kaira and Fodya have been important to Bullets for the past three years.

Msowoya had stints with South African giants Orlando Pirates, APR of Rwanda, Mozambican side Desportos do Maxaquene and Golden Arrows whereas Kaira also played in Mozambique.

Bullets are currently eighth on the log table with 12 points from seven matches, seven points behind leaders Silver Strikers who have played two more matches.

The People’s Team are also in discussion with Zimbabwean coach Kalisto Pasuwa on extending his contract which is set to expire on Tuesday.

Pasuwa helped Bullets to win the TNM Super League title when he joined the club with seven games to go before the end of the season in 2018, having replaced Elia Kananji and Rodgers Yasin.

In his first full season, he defended the title with 70 points, just one ahead of runners-up Mighty Be Forward Wanderers.
