Big Bullets to decide on players
Former TNM Super League champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, will this week, decide on the future of some of their players.
In recent weeks, the social media has been spreading rumours that the People’s Team were preparing to axe five players, Luka Milanzi, Muhamad Sulumba, George Nyirenda, Niyikiza Aimable and captain Chiukepo Msowoya.
Bullets’ Chairperson Noel Lipipa Tuesday insisted that the team has not fired any player.
He added that the meeting will be mainly aimed at strategising for the next season.
Bullets surrendered the league championship to Kamuzu Barracks.
“All of them are still Nyasa Big Bullets’ players, and for your information, we have not dismissed anyone. However, we are meeting this Sunday and that is where the fate of some players will be known,” Lipipa said.
“For now, I choose not to go into details. But if we feel that such a player is worthy keeping, then we will let him stay. [Nevertheless] as soon as the meeting ends, that is when I will come back to you [the media].”
Lipipa also declined to comment on the future of striker, Niyikiza Aimable, with the team, saying his stay was subject to the coaches’ decision.
Nyirenda has since dismissed reports suggesting that he is among those facing the chop.
