Eliza Mponya’s song ‘Mulolelanji’ has enjoyed massive airplay on most of the local radio stations since she dropped it.
But it is now time for the gospel singer, who has backed several artists including Ethel Kamwendo Banda to launch the ‘Mulolelanji’ DVD and CD at Robin’s Park in Blantyre on Sunday.
The past years saw Mponya starring with her sister Triza, who is now currently in South Africa.
The double launch of the DVD and CD will see her sharing the stage with Kamwendo Banda, Favoured Martha, Thocco Katimba and Patience Namadingo among others.
She said she has worked hard putting the DVD and CD together and that she was ready for the double launch.
“I am ready and can’t wait to get on stage,” Mponya said.
According to her, Mulolelanji was recorded in 2015 at Alimoso Studios in Blantyre by Khathwa Aligiza and it has 11 tracks.
“As I launch a CD and DVD I am excited because the songs have done well especially ‘Wakhala Bwanji,’ and ‘Mulolelanji’ which are enjoying massive airplay,” she said.
In the title track, Mponya is asking God as to why he allows evil people excel in life while those with good deeds struggle.
“It is the first time to launch an album since I started music in 2006 with my sister,” said the songstress, who holds a diploma in theology.
In some of her songs she has fused traditional dances from the Lower Shire where she comes from.
With her sister Triza, they released two albums which has songs such as ‘Watiyankha’ and ‘Ndine Mfulu.’
Some of the songs in Mulolelanji include ‘I Want to Know You,’ ‘Mwandisiiranji,’ ‘Mwandipyoletsa,’ ‘Taoloka,’ ‘Yesu Ndi Mpanga,’ ‘Mwatsala Pinango,’ and ‘Ndaimilila.’
