ANGRY – The staff members captured

About 80 members of support staff at one of the country’s glamorous schools, Bishop Mackenzie International, on Monday went on strike in protest against poor salaries.

Chairperson of the support staff, who opted for anonymity, said they were protesting for a salary increment which is very low.

He said the staff were also worried about how the school authority keeps on giving out one year contracts to employees.

“There are many things that are not right at this school. As staff we are enduring a lot of pain. Imagine working tirelessly only to be getting peanuts and there is no salary increment.

“The school can just wake up and decide to fire people without any reasons. We are tired of such occurrences so we want change to happen now, or we will continue to strike,” He said.

Bishop Mackenzie Director Adrian Moody was not available for comment as he was reported to be attending other meetings.
