Black Missionaries which seems to be winning the hearts of people during their live acts with their fresh song ‘Tizingocheza,’ from their yet-to-be-released Kuimba 10 album, performed at Afro Motel close to Wenela Bus depot.

The two concerts for the two music heavyweights started in the afternoon and spilled over to the night with the Blacks concert pulling an impressive audience while Soldier’s show received a smaller audience.

Lucius started performing at around past eight soon after Nepman had warmed the stage but the audience was still small.

The legendary musician, who is also set to release his new album titled Thank You and has already dropped three promo songs admitted that the concert flopped.

“Our manager Mazzy arranged several shows in the Southern Region and so this is one of them but I must admit that this one has flopped.

“But all these shows were already arranged so we could not cancel them. Our friends Black Missionaries are also performing today but all the same we are happy with you who have showed up,” said Lucius soon after jumping on stage.

People also had to brave a cold weather to attend the two concerts on Sunday.

Some people had to move between the two shows to experience the performances.

“It’s not healthy though because Lucius and Blacks are heavyweights and they normally move with the same audience so they need to give each other space. At the end of the day they all lose out,” said Julius Mbewe.

With Lucius jumping on stage late, the concert at New Village went all the way to around past 10 as the musician dished out several songs from his previous albums.

The musician also had time to perform his promo songs including ‘Sagona,’ which he collaborated with Lambanie Dube although he seemed to have not mastered the song’s lyrics and has to work extra hard to rehearse them as people have started demanding the new songs.

Apart from Nepman, who also excited fans with his performance, especially with the hit ‘Nalelo,’ the other artists who performed earlier include Sam Simakweli and Lambanie Dube.
