Blacks date Lilongwe

Reggae group Black Missionaries alongside Anthony Mr Cool Makondetsa continue with their live performances as this weekend they date Lilongwe.

Black Missionaries will perform at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe Saturday and then B Square in Lumbadzi Sunday.

The group returned to the stage last weekend having been out for close to three months following a ban of public performances due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Blacks, Makondetsa, Khozie Masimbe, Moda Fumulani and Yanjanani Chumbu performed at Club 24/7 in Blantyre last Friday before dating Davido Lounge in Mangochi and Village House in Blantyre on Saturday and Sunday respectively where they received impressive audiences.

“We are ready, we have trained hard and we are thankful for the support that we received last weekend in our three assignments. We are happy to resume shows and all what we are saying is that we will continue to follow the necessary precautionary measures because Covid-19 pandemic is real,” Blacks’ lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani, said.

He said lives of their fans matter hence following the necessary precautionary measures as well as taking time to use the shows to sensitise them about the pandemic.

“We have already said that apart from entertaining people, we are also using the same shows to disseminate Covid-19 pandemic,” Anjiru said.

The group has said that next month people will start sampling some of the singles off their incoming Kuimba 12 album.

The reggae group is later this year also set to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Makondetsa last weekend also said they happy to be back on stage and that people should brace for more gigs.
