Blantyre United hire Eddingtone Ng’onamo
Former Flames coach, Eddingtone Ng’onamo, has been hired as Blantyre United Technical Director, replacing Leo Mpulula who will now be acting head Coach.
United earned TNM Super League promotion from the Southern Region Football Association’s Premier Division last season, two years after being relegated.
The club’s owner Lawson Nakoma announced the changes yesterday, saying it would be important to have Mpulula as coach as he is much into nurturing talent.
Nakoma hoped that the hiring of Ngo’namo would help the team to maintain its culture of developing players from the grassroots.
“We believe that the combination of him and Mr. Mpulula will make our team strong and be able to compete for honours this season,” he said.
Nakoma added that his team would be dominated by the players who earned the promotion.
Ng’onamo said he was determined to transform the club.
“There is no small team. Going to Blantyre United will help me in my coaching career. As a qualified coach, I need to be active and I am sure that we will build a good team,” he said.
Ng’onamo also coached Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers.
