Blue Eagles earmark Joyce Mvula for GOtv Fast5

Blue Eagles Sisters want to include Manchester Thunder goal-shooter, Joyce Mvula, in the GOtv Fast5 Netball Challenge scheduled to throw off on August 26.

Eagles Coach, Sam Kanyenda, said they were considering getting permission from the United Kingdom team to release Mvula on loan.

“If we can have her on loan, it will be a big boost to our quest to win the competition,” he said.

Mvula returned home in June after her successful professional debut season in England.

Kanyenda said domestic netball stands to benefit if Mvula plays in the tournament.

“The player and the club will benefit, but to a larger extent, it will be the country which will gain much. We are going to compete in Fast5 Netball World Series. We need to prepare our players psychologically and physically ahead of the international competition,” he said.

Mvula declined to comment, saying she will issue a statement after consulting Thunder and Eagles.

Netball Association of Malawi General Secretary, Carol Bapu, said they would comment once Eagles officially express their interest in the player.
