Blue Eagles go to polls
Blue Eagles will elect new office bearers on March 2 in Lilongwe, the TNM Super League giants’ General Manager, Gabriel Chirwa, confirmed.
Chirwa said the position of Treasurer might be abolished to fulfill Club Licensing System requirements. The term of office is two years.
“As the administrator of the club, I want to meet management of Malawi Police Service to discuss the requirements of Club Licensing with them System. Last year, we did well in meeting the requirements, so one of the requirements is to have a permanent accountant,” Chirwa explained.
“But I cannot make the decision on my own and I will consult management of the club.”
The outgoing committee was headed by Richard Luhanga and his vice Happy Mkandawire whereas Ackis Muwanga was the General Secretary with Benjamin Msowoya as his deputy.
Reports suggest that Eagles want to beef up the Derklerk Msakakuona-led technical panel ahead of the 2017 season.
Msakakuona is currently deputised by Wilson Chidati whereas Alan Kachingwe is the team’s Technical Director.
The team regrouped last Wednesday for pre-season training.
For the past four years, Eagles have been dominating the Super League in the first-round, only to lose track in the second round.
