Blue Eagles, Nyasa Big Bullets match grosses K10 million

The TNM Super League match involving Blue Eagles and Nyasa Big Bullets at Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday grossed K10 million.
Out of K10 million, Bullets and Eagles each got K2.1 million whereas ground owners pocketed the same amount as part of their 25 percent cut.
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) and Football Association of Malawi (Fam) pocketed K853,000 as their 10 percent cut.
Both teams expressed satisfaction with the gate revenue.
Eagles Chairperson Alexander Ngwala said the revenue was a true reflection of the turnout.
“It is our first time to collect a double million figure. It shows people really paid at the gate and that there was strict control. We are really happy that nobody was allowed to have access to the money,” Ngwala said.
Bullets Chief Administrator Albert Chigoga was also happy with the gross realised during the match.
“We are extremely happy. Gate management was spot on,” Chigoga said.
Fans paid K2,000 for open stands whereas K5,000 was gate charge for the VIP stand.
The two teams played out to a 1-1 draw.
John Malidadi Junior was on target for the hosts whereas Babatunde Adepoju netted for the visitors.
Eagles are still on top of the table with 10 points from four matches, four above Bullets, who will face Dedza Dynamos at Balaka Stadium on Wednesday.
