Blue Eagles coach Decklerk Msakakuona says he is looking at beefing up his squad with high-profile defenders and a goalkeeper before the start of the new season.
His remarks come as Eagles are heavily linked with Big Bullets outcast Douglas Chirambo and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa.
In an exclusive interview on Thursday, Msakakuona said he is happy with his squad but he would be happy to add at least three defenders and a shot stopper.
“We have a good squad capable of challenging for Super League title and domestic cups but we just need to beef up on few areas like defence and goalkeeping. We have already started our scouting mission and very soon we will get the players we want,” said Msakakuona.
He also admitted that poor goalkeeping was one of the main reasons the team failed to win the TNM Super League after dominating at the summit for the better part of last season.
“We noted that one of the weak areas in the team was the goalkeeping position so we desperately need the goalkeeper to provide competition to other three goalkeepers,” he said.
