With two days to go to this year’s Blue Mingoli concert featuring South Africa’s Zonke and the country’s Patience Namadingo, Standard Bank has revealed that the VIP tickets have sold out.
This leaves standard tickets pegged at K20,000 on sale in selected branches of Standard Bank.
Standard Bank Head of Marketing, Thoko Unyolo, said the development shows that customers are ready to be part of this memorable event at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on November 5, 2016.
“I am pleased to report that we have sold out all VIP tickets. We now have only Standard tickets which are going for K20,000. We are confident that our audience will enjoy a memorable event in a safe and comfortable environment,” Unyolo said.
She said preparations for the 2016 Blue Mingoli concert are on course.
“We are working round the clock with both our local and international partners to ensure that we host yet another great Blue Mingoli concert. As we draw closer, more partners are coming on board and committing to making the November 5 concert a day to remember for the arts and entertainment industry in the country,” she said.
Now in its fourth year, Blue Mingoli is the Malawian version of international jazz concerts that the Standard Bank group hosts around Africa.
In Malawi it started as Joy of Jazz before rebranding to Blue Mingoli.
Artists who have featured in previous editions of the concert include US jazz maestro, Earl Klugh and South African stars Zahara and Lira.
This year’s Blue Mingoli concert is under the theme More than Music.
Unyolo said Standard Bank has created Blue Mingoli to provide a platform for cross-learning among local and international artists while offering an opportunity to interact with clients. It also offers an opportunity for exposure of visual artists who are often overlooked.
