Botsalt tourney returns

Southern Region Netball Committee (SRNC) has disclosed the second edition of Botsalt Netball Trophy will be launched on January 16 in Zomba City at a venue to be announced later.
The league’s chairperson Judith Chalusa said the sponsor would announce sponsorship hike during the launching ceremony.
“Plans are at an advanced stage to hold a colourful launch. Once logistics are finalised, we will announce the venue that will host the launch. However, we are all looking forward to the announcement of sponsorship increase,” she said.
Currently, the league is sponsored at K8.5 million.
Chalusa said they would follow all Covid-19 safety protocols to safeguard lives.
“We have delayed announcing the venue because we are looking at the safety of every stakeholder. The idea is to secure a better venue to easily observe Covid-19 preventive guidelines,” said the former Malawi Queens and First Choice Tigresses [formerly Admarc Tigresses] defender.
Netrade, suppliers of Botsalt in the country, will sponsor the league for the second successive season.
Recently, the company’s marketing manager Murray Evans said they were impressed with how SRNC handled the league during its inaugural season.
Developmental teams from Blantyre, Mwanza, Neno, Thyolo, Mulanje, Nsanje, Chikwawa, Balaka, Machinga, Mangochi, Zomba, Chiradzulu and Phalombe compete in Botsalt League.
