Boxer Bright Mdoka taunts Alick Mwenda
South Africa-based boxer, Bright Mdoka, has taunted national middleweight champion, Alick Mwenda, ahead of their 12-round title fight set for Lilongwe Community Centre Ground Sunday.
Mdoka said he did not return home to merely visit his family and friends but to dethrone Mwenda.
“I often wonder how this guy [Mwenda] made it to the championship. This is the reason I want to give him a good beating so that he should quit the army and join one of the security companies,” he said.
Mdoka has strong punches but often lacks endurance, a thing that affects his prospects of winning.
However, Mwenda warned Mdoka to stop making noise in the media and concentrate on training.
“I did not get the belt on a silver platter. I sweated for this title and I will not let it go. I am determined to give him a good dosage of punches so that he should come back to his senses,” he said.
During the double-header bill, Crispin Moliyati is also expected to defend his lightweight belt against Malani Kayuni.
Superior Boxing Promotions, owned by Japhet Majekete, has organised the bill.
