By Williams Gondwa:
Pugilist Wilson Masamba is heading to Tanzania where he will face Iddi Dialali in a 12-round East and Central Africa lightweight belt fight.
The bout will take place on January 26 at Kinesi Stadium in Ubungo.
The fight has been organised by Msololo Boxing Promotion and will also have other supporting bouts where Haidar Mnchanjo will take on Tony Rashid while Issa Nampepeche will fight against Loren Japhet.
Masamba said he would leave for Tanzania Saturday so that he acclimatises in the East African country.
“I am geared for the fight. I have the confidence that I will win the belt. I have been training hard here at home. I have no doubt that I will knock the Tanzanian out. I want to give the organisers a good fight. This will not be my first time to fight against Tanzanian boxers and I am optimistic that fans will enjoy themselves thoroughly,” Masamba said.
He said one of his goals in the new year is to win more international fights to build his image abroad.
“I had four fights in 2018 and I lost once. So I am looking forward to a wonderful year,” Masamba added.
The Malawi Defence Force boxer beat Sando Jackson in Namibia during a non-title fight but lost to Jeremiah ‘No Respect’ Nakathila to end 2018 on a low note.
Masamba drew several other fights.
