Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) giants Bravehearts are on the verge of winning their third straight title when meeting Cougars in the second game at Civo Basketball Court this afternoon.

Bravehearts have an advantage having won the first game 64 -32 on the first day of the finals on Tuesday at the same venue.

But they need a win to seal the title in their second match rendering the last game of the finals useless.

Should Bravehearts lose today, the champions will be determined on the last day of the finals slated for next week.

However, Cougars are not push overs in domestic basketball as they have a pool of talent players.

In the ladies category, Bravehearts Ladies also started on a high having beaten Angels 116 -43 in the first game.

It means, they are also on course to win their third straight basketball crown in the region.

Cezobal General Secretary, Peter Gomani, said all was set for the finals.

“It is still open because anything can happen in the last two games. We have seen great talent this year and we are very satisfied with the quality of basketball in our region,” Gomani said.

But Bravehearts Coach, Griffin Kalua, said his troops would not relax in the second game.

“The battle is not yet over and we have to be very careful. We know they will come hard on us but we have good players who are ready for the challenge,” Kalua said.

The finals will start with a match involving Spartans and Bravehearts Youth before Bravehearts Ladies and Angels meet.

But the climax of the event will be the match between Bravehearts and Cougars later in the evening.

For two consecutive years, Bravehearts have reigned supreme in the region. Bravehearts and Cougars have also participated in several international tournaments in the last three years.
