BREAKING: Woman kills her 3 children in Mchinji

A 38-year-old woman in Mchinji, Violet Eliya, is in police custody on suspicion of murdering her three boy children on Wednesday afternoon.

The children were aged 11, 9 and 5 years.

Mchinji police spokesperson, Moses Nyirenda told Times that the  police are yet to establish the reasons behind the killing but Eliya’s  close relations have told the police that she has a history of mental illness.

Nyirenda said the woman murdered the children in a garden that  is outside Mathalu Village where the family was on mango gathering errands.
