Bright Mdoka to face Zimbabwean
Super middleweight champion, Bright Mdoka, will face Zimbabwean boxer Wesley McDade in a non-title fight in Harare Friday.
Mdoka on Tuesday said the fight presents him an opportunity to prove himself on the international stage.
“I am very prepared for this guy. I am going there for a win. I hope to make it because I have confidence in myself. I am always in the gym and that is why I am confident,” he said.
Mdoka will be a fourth Malawian boxer to fight across the borders this month, joining Israel Kam’mwamba, Mussa Ajibu and Limbani Masamba.
Mdoka, who was until recently based in South Africa, said he was ready to maintain his record.
McDade is a good boxer who has won four bouts and lost once.
In his last fight in January, Mcdade cowed fellow Zimbabwean Edmos Takawira into submission in a super middleweight non-title fight, before facing Congolese fighter Chris Bobo earlier this month
