British High Commissioner to Malawi, Holly Tett, has urged Malawi to find better ways of marketing the country for it to maximise income generated through the tourism sector.
Tett said this in Mangochi District at the end of a five-day tour of British double former Olympic Gold Medal winner Deme Kelly Holmes, who was in the country to raise awareness on the contribution of nutrition to national development.
Tett said, through proper partnerships with other countries and non-governmental organisations, the country could easily diversity its sources of income.
“Malawi also needs to start working with British companies in raising the profile of the country as you can observe that Kelly’s visit to Malawi has been organised by a British company. I believe that partnerships with foreign companies and non-governmental organisations can help the county,” Tett said.
