A South African-based Malawian entrepreneur in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Kenneth Fukizi, has authored a book aimed at inspiring peers to make meaningful investment in the sector.

The book, titled Technical Career Guide in Software Development, will be launched on June 3 at Harvey’s Garden in Blantyre where the author and other ICT experts will also share practical lessons on skills development and investment in ICT-related fields.

Fukizi said he is targeting decision-makers in the public and private sectors, the youth and budding entrepreneurs.

“At the book launch, I will give an insight into what is possible for Malawi economically, technologically, that young people can tap into for individual, communal and national benefits,” he said.

He said he attempts to instill hope to scores of young Malawians to explore opportunities in the field.

“There is no denying the fact that digitasing the Malawian economy will give us a lifeline if not a catalyst for growth. Information technology is at the heart of every imaginable sector and, therefore, not surprising to see our leaders advocating and championing the same,” he said.

“Corporate management will benefit from the insight into how they can build systems that speak directly to their own business model.

“IT practitioners will benefit from the practical knowledge of how they need to provide ideal services to their respective environments, and how they can increase their values to their own organisations, and their own confidence and potential to solve world-class problems on their own, through authentic software development,” he added.

Fukizi drew inspiration to author the book from observation in his over 18 years of experience in the IT industry locally and abroad.
