Thirteen police officers accused of having a hand in the murder of Buleya Lule on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to charges levelled against them.
The 13 appeared before High Court Judge Dorothy DeGrabrielle in Lilongwe for plea.
They are answering counts of murder and grievous bodily harm while the third count of negligence applies to two of the suspects.
Legal Aid Director, Masauko Chamkakala, is representing some of the accused persons.
Another lawyer representing one of the suspects, Gift Katundu, said they were ready for the trial.
The police officers are being accused of murdering Lule, a prime suspect in the abduction and murder of a 14-year-old boy with albinism in Dedza District.
The judge has since adjourned the case to May 17 to 21, 2021.
The state is expected to parade 13 witnesses.
