Nyasa Big Bullets have said their focus is on the TNM Super League championship race and not expiring players’ contracts.
Bullets acting Chief Executive Officer, Escort Chinula, was reacting to reports that contracts for their nine players have expired.
Reports indicate that contracts for defenders Sankhani Mkandawire, Yamikani Fodya, Pilirani Zonda, Miracle Gabeya, Bashir Maunde, midfielder Henry Kabichi and goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe will expire between the end of this month and next month.
But Chinula said they will do their best to retain all the players whose contracts are expiring.
He says at the moment, the team’s focus is on the Super League title chase.
Meanwhile, Zonda said he will not rush to push for the contract renewal up until talks between him and the club take place.
Bullets lead the Super League log table with 58 points from 26 games followed by Be Forward Wanderers who have 57 points from the same number of games.
