Bushiri honours K20 million pledge to ‘Fatsani’ film

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri through one of his companies— Prophet Shepherd Bushiri Ministries (PSBMI) Travel Tours— on Tuesday finally fulfilled his K20 million pledge he made recently to Fatsani: A Tale of Survival film during its premiere at Amaryllis Hotel in Blantyre, where he was the special guest.

During the premiere of the movie, which won the Best Director Award at Sotambe Film Festival in Zambia recently, Bushiri said he was impressed with the film and pledged K20 million as support to help in its promotion worldwide.

Bushiri fulfilled the pledge during an event which was held at his office – Golden Peacock House in Lilongwe.

Fatsani movie is a great export for Malawi; as such, it must be supported,” he said.

The movie’s team leader Gift Sukez Sukali hailed Bushiri for living up to his promise.

“We are thankful and this will go a long way in helping us promote the film,” Sukali said.

The movie recently also received a nod from the Malawi Oscars Selection Committee to represent the country at the 2022 Academy Awards.

The film tells the story of a girl, Fatsani, played by Hannah Sukali, who is forced to sell bananas in the streets for the sake of survival.

According to Bushiri, PSBMI TT is a registered travel agency responsible for spiritual pilgrims, corporate and leisure travels, safari and tours and car hire.

The company is a member of Malawi Tourism Council and is also registered under the Tourism and Hotels Board under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife.
