C.O remixes ‘Tikamapanga Chikondi’

Musician and former Big Brother Africa (BBA) representative Code Sangala, better known as C.O, has revisited one of his songs ‘Tikamapanga Chikondi’ from his album Mizu and breathed new life into it.
The artist released the remix on Monday which people can stream and download through his YouTube channel and on malawimusic.com for free.
He said, with people going through a lot of stress, he decided to rework the song to bring in entertainment.
“People in Malawi love to dance and so this remix is giving them the opportunity. My music appeals to everyone,” C.O said.
The host of Sounds of Malawi Acoustic Session at Jacaranda Cultural Centre in Blantyre said the remix has a youthful vibe and that it will relate to the youth and those young at heart.
“I hope to open up a dialogue about sex and love which is a subject that is normally avoided and deemed controversial,” he said.
C.O underlined that ‘Tikamapanga Chikondi’ is a song about physical intimacy between people in love.
The artist, who also has Solo the Album to his credit, has in recent years gone traditional, revisiting some of the old songs done by other artists as part of promoting culture but also building identity for the country’s music.
“The current generation of artists is so obsessed with Western style but we have our own traditional dances which can make good sound. We need to do more as far as keeping our identity is concerned,” he said.
