Local electrical wire producers, Cable Manufacturers, on Friday celebrate its 20 years of doing business in the country.
The company was the first in the country to produce cables and during its formative years, the company worked with the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) to establish Malawi standards on cables.
Marketing Executive at Cable Manufacturers, Ania Banda, said the company has grown tremendously because of its high quality cables.
“We produce high quality standard cables that are certified by MBS. This shows how serious we are in terms of quality. Our aim is to produce cables that are of international standards,” she said.
Banda further applauded the government for the Buy Malawi Strategy concept, saying this will help reduce unemployment rate in the country.
“We employ about 200 people and we believe that the more companies buy from us, our production will also go up, hence creating job opportunities for fellow Malawians,” she said.
Sharma Electricals, which is one of CM’s major customers, said CM produces good quality cables that beat international standards.
Sharma said CM products are trust worthy and cannot disappoint in any job.
Cable Manufacturers produces a cross range of cables which include single core, flexible, armoured and overhead power conductors, among others.
