Can Thunder Queens strike Kukoma Diamonds?
Revamped Thunder Queens are Saturday determined to hand Kukoma Diamonds their first defeat of Rainbow Paints Southern Region Netball League this season.
Thunder and Diamonds are expected to meet at Blantyre Youth Centre Saturday.
Diamonds top the table with 18 points from six games whereas Thunder are second with 15 points.
Thunder Coach, Christina Mkwanda-Nsinji, whose team defeated Polytechnic on Thursday, said their ultimate target were Diamonds.
“When we met them during the Kukoma Invitational Tournament, we lost by three baskets. Now, we have rectified our mistakes and we are confident in registering a positive result,” she said.
Despite struggling financially, Thunder are enjoying a rich vein of form.
Diamonds Assistant Coach, Noel Mussa, said they were not underrating Thunder.
“There is no room to get complacent. We respect Thunder but we will take them head on. For us to be champions, we have to beat our rivals,” he said.
In another equally exciting match, Tigresses will entertain Serenity Stars.
