Christian Artists Network Association Malawi (Cana) in partnership with Zoom Prayer Group has donated foodstuffs to frontline workers.
Cana Team Leader Chimwemwe Mizaya said Sunday that as people that, have been committed to praying for God’s intervention through prayer and music against Covid, they thought of helping out.
“We have been praying a lot for frontline staff especially for their commitment, zeal, courage and sacrifice. We also noted that others have made significant contributions by buying cylinders and other Covid treatment related items and we thought we should reach out to frontline workers,” Mizaya said. She added: “We, as Christians, call ourselves salt to the world based on the book of Mathew 5. As such, we needed to add value and weight to the gallant fight and hence donating items to Bingu Isolation centre in Lilongwe”.
Some of the foodstuffs that they donated include grapes, apples, water, cupcakes, juices, soft drinks and scones.
Cana has been involved in a number of projects and Mizaya said they will continue to do so through fundraising drives.
“We are happy to have partnered Zoom Prayer Group in this fundraiser. All this worked because of teamwork. To all that supported this activity in one way or the other, we would like to thank them,” she said.
