ALUFANETI—We want
to help

Blantyre-based car dealership company Ama has introduced music video sponsorship packages for musicians in the country.

Ama Car Dealers Managing Director Kingsley Alufaneti said the company decided to introduce the packages after realising the challenges artists face in producing quality music videos.

“We want to help in the production of high quality music videos that can compete at international level. High quality music videos demand big budgets and that is where we come in,” Alufaneti said.

Alufaneti could not be drawn to say the amount they have put up for the production, saying budgets will vary according to music video scripts.

The company has already made a move partnering Lilongwe-based musician Diktator in his latest music video ‘Lekeni’ featuring Saint.

Alufaneti said Diktator was the best pick after looking at his impact and influence.

“Let me add that this is part of our corporate social responsibility. Diktator is the first artist but we are looking forward to working with more artists,” Alufaneti said.

Diktator, real name Dickie Shumba, hailed Ama Car Dealers for the gesture.

“It’s a great opportunity to finally fulfill my dream. My approach this time is a bit different as I want to work with more local brands,” he said.

The ‘Yanga Ija’ star said he finalised shooting ‘Lekeni’ last week, adding that his second single in which he featured Macelba would be dropping on January 31.
