Carlsberg Urban Music Legacy back

The Carlsberg Urban Music Legacy is back.

The event set to feature 13 artists will be held at College of Medicine Complex in Blantyre on Sunday.

Carlsberg Malawi Senior Brands Manager – Alcoholic Twikale Chirwa said on Wednesday this is an annual music event that aims at celebrating urban music in the country.

“Through this platform we want to help uplift urban music in the country but also continually give our consumers a first class Carlsberg Brand experience,” Chirwa said.

He said urban music has made progress and that as Carlsberg Malawi through the Urban Music Legacy, they want urban artists to showcase their skills.

“We want to develop the growing urban music genre and connect with our vibrant consumers directly but also appreciate talent,” Chirwa said.

He said the event will bring on board some of the renowned urban artists and they include Martse, Tay Grin, Theo Thomson, Sonye, Malinga Mafia, Sangie, Purple C, Ritaa, Sir Patricks, Charisma and Kwin Bee.

Tay Grin, Purple C, Theo Thomson and Malinga Mafia will be hitting the Carlsberg Urban Music Legacy stage fresh from their triumph in the inaugural Nyasa Music Awards held last Friday at Comesa Hall in Blantyre.

“What we are saying is that for you to gain entry to the event you need to buy three Carlsberg beers to enter for standard or post a picture of you enjoying Carlsberg on our Facebook page to win two tickets to the function,” he said.

Chirwa said there will be assorted branded give-aways for consumers adding that the event and promotion is open to those aged between 18 years and above.

“We believe in supporting development of talent in various areas and this is one way we feel can contribute to development of Malawian music,” he said.

Chirwa said this was a journey they started last year and that they were growing and striving to uplift urban music at the same time giving their consumers the ultimate Carlsberg experience.
