Castel Malawi hypes Valentine with Doppel Munich contest

Castel Malawi will today announce names of winners in a Doppel competition it has been running through its social media page from February 3 to February 13 ahead of the men’s conference this coming Friday.

The announcement today comes handy as it is Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine.

This is a day celebrated annually on February 14 and originated as a Christian feast day honouring one or two early Christian martyrs named Saint Valentine and, through later folk traditions, has become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.

Castel Malawi Marketing Operations Manager Lavern Chitakata said Monday they were pleased with the overwhelming response they had received through the competition.

“The mechanics were that they take a picture of them and their friends drinking Doppel Munich and post on the Doppel page and get a minimum of 50 shares to quality,” Chitakata said.

She said those who quality will be part of the men’s conference to be held on Friday in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu.

“It will be fun during the men’s conference where, among other things, there will be food, drinks, games and, on top of that, there will also be entrepreneurship and mental health talks,” Chitakata said.

She said the country is suffering from a rise in suicide cases and that men were affected more.

“We are creating a platform to build strong men as Doppel is a brand for strong men. We want to empower more men to be successful and mentally stable, resonating with the Castel brand whose belief is the taste of the success coupled with a beer for strong men,” Chitakata said.
