CDH Investment Bank rescues Sozobal

Southern Zone Basketball League (Sozobal) will host an invitational tournament after receiving K3 million from CDH Investment Bank.
The two-day tournament, that starts on Saturday, will attract teams from Central Zone Basketball (Cezobal) and Northern Zone Basketball (Nozobal).
Sozobal Chairperson Raymond Chioko, while thanking CDH Bank Investments Bank, urged other companies to support the body stage a successful tournament.
“The tournament has been dubbed ‘Money in the Bank’ to celebrate the partnership with CDH Investment Bank,” he said.
Twelve men’s teams— namely Bricks, Kamuzu Barracks, Moyale Barracks, Crazy Warriors, Cobbe Barracks, Magang’a, Mikoko, Z Thunders, Malawi University of Science and Technology (Must), Lox 360, Firestorms and CDH Investment Bank—will participate.
Some of the teams to battle in the women’s category are Kukoma Eagles, Mikoko Mystics, Must Ladies and Cobbe Barracks Ladies.
Chioko said the games would be played at Kuhes Sports Complex, Blantyre Youth Centre and Mubas courts.
Champions in the men’s section will take home K1 million, with the runners-up K350,000. The third-placed side will get K200,000.
In women’s category, the champions will get K750,000 while runners-up will take home K250,000. The third-placed side will receive K150,000.
