eSwatini club Manzini Sundowns have fired Malawian coach Charles Manda following the team’s poor run of form.
Manda joined the eSwatini Premier League side in October last year but results have not been forthcoming as he registered four defeats and three wins.
Manda could not respond to our questions on the matter through WhatsApp on Sunday but his agent, Dingane Maduma, confirmed the development.
“It is true that Manda has amicably parted ways with Manzini. It was a performance-based contract. So, after reviewing the team’s performance, the two parties agreed to terminate the contract,” Maduma said.
Manzini are sixth in eSwantini’s Premier League.
But luck has not eluded Manda as he has clinched a deal with another Premier League side, Mbabane Citizens, as Technical Director.
Manda got down to business on Sunday on a bad note after his team went down 4-2 on penalties to First Division side Bees FC in the Kings Cup. Mbabane are 11th in the league.
The former Nchalo United coach was suspended at the relegated Lower Shire side last year before resigning from to return to eSwatini where he was also assistant, coach to compatriot Meke Mwase at Highlanders in 2014.
