“We are ready and more than ready and all we are saying is let people come in large numbers and be part of this fashion and clothing event,” Kadangwe said.

Some of the designers set to showcase their works tonight include TMD, Nyalisa Wear, Christian Entwan Designs, Elinas, Lilly Alfonso and Homegrown Lifestyle.

“Apart from sampling the different designs, we will also have various musical performances from Sonye, Adrian Kwelepeta, Hayze Engola and Its Friday,” she said.

Kadangwe also said that this year’s event will be hosted by musician Patience Namadingo.

“We have partnered with Skyband who will provide social Wi-Fi service, Mango Ad Agency and Entertainers Promotions. The theme for this year’s event is Fashion Independence. The month of July is all about celebrating Independence, which got us thinking about the value of freedom,” she said.

Kadangwe said fashion is one of the crucial elements of any culture and that it was a reflection of social climate and an indicator of economic conditions.

“More often than not, fashion is associated with materialistic values but the truth of the matter is that fashion is the purest form of self-expression that we have,” she said.

Kadangwe also revealed that they have partnered with Sobo Quench.

“They are rebranding and we felt this partnership was necessary because it aligns with changing with time and remaining trendy, the core of fashion,” she said.

Kadangwe said DJ Panther will also model at the event.

She also said that veteran musician Wyndham Chechamba will open the event with the national anthem.
