Malawi National Football Team defender Chembezi Denis is in discussions with South Africa’s First Division side Black Leopards over a possible deal.
His agent Steve Madeira said the free agent, having left the country for South Africa on Wednesday, will not undergo trials at the Limpopo side.
“Black Leopards have shown interest in signing him. He will likely be offered an outright contract. He has gone there to discuss personal terms,” Madeira said.
On his part, Chembezi said he was looking forward to starting a new life at Leopards.
“I do not want to comment much because I am not yet done with our contract discussions. Given a chance to play here I will definitely do that,” Chembezi said.
Chembezi was on the verge of re-joining Mighty Mukuru Wanderers after parting ways with another First Division side Polokwane City earlier this year.
If Chembezi clinches a deal at Leopards, he will link up with his former Wanderers teammate Rafik Namwera, who signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.
For the past two seasons, Chembezi was playing for Leopards’ rivals Polokwane.
However, his compatriots Khuda Muyaba and Mike Mkwate are still at Polokwane.
