Chigoli Football Academy of Lilongwe has described its partnership with Seba Foods, a firm which supplies nutritious food, as a success.
Seba Foods provides the academy’s players with Golden Goodness Tasty Soya Pieces and Instant Thobwa every week, plus K2.8 million for buying milk, fruits and porridge.
One of Chigoli founders, George Maguire, said the partnership was part of their holistic approach to player development.
“Together, we aim at meeting gaps in their diet, promote healthy growth and physical development so that they are in shape to deal with the demands of modern football,” he said.
The two-year partnership will see Seba Foods supply to the academy 15,000 packets of soya and 6,000 packets of thobwa [sweet beer].
The academy opened its doors in 2014 and has 62 players aged between nine and 16 years from across the country.
