Nyasa Big Bullets versatile midfielder, Chikondi Likwemba, is expected to be out for a month after suffering from a shoulder injury.

Likwemba got injured during the first half of Saturday’s friendly match against Dynamos of Zimbabwe at Kamuzu Stadium.

“I fell badly after being pushed while in the air, then my shoulder got dislocated,” said yesterday the midfielder, who was replaced by Henry Kabichi as Bullets went on to beat Dynamos 1-0.

Earlier, Bullets technical director, Billy Tewesa, said an early examination by the team doctor indicated that Likwemba would be out for a week.

Tewesa added that Bullets have a strong squad capable of coping with Likwemba’s absence.

“We are a big team and we have the arsenal to overcome such setbacks. For instance, Pilirani Zonda is also out injured and we had new signing John Lanjesi filling the role,” he said.

Bullets have made a number of signings, including Lanjesi, Emmanuel Zoya, Muhammad Sulumba and Ernest Kakhobwe.

“All these players have a role to play. To complete a season, a lot of things happen. However, there is need to rest players so that they should not suffer from burn-out,” Tewesa said.
