Chikoti Chirwa signs for Polokwane City

Glad Africa Championship side Polokwane City have completed the signing of Flames midfielder Chikoti Chirwa on a three-year deal.
The Red Lions midfielder is expected to join Polokwane once the international transfer window opens in January next year.
However, the deal is subject to Malawi Defence Force (MDF)’s approval.
Chikoti, as a soldier can move to Polokwane after he gets clearance from his employers.
Former Mighty Wanderers Manager Steve Madeira, who is facilitating the deal, confirmed that everything had been completed.
“It is a done deal. Polokwane and Red Lions have also agreed on the player,” Madeira said.
Red Lions vice General Secretary Davie Gondwe asked for more time before commenting on the matter.
Chirwa had successful trials with the Glad Africa Championship recently.
At Polokwane, he will reunite with compatriots striker Khuda Muyaba, defender Dennis Chembezi and midfielder Mike Mkwate.
Meanwhile, Polokwane are also interested in signing Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Chimwemwe Idana and Mighty Wanderers attacker Yamikani Chester.
Discussions between Bullets and Polokwane are at an advanced stage and the deal is expected to be completed in few days.
However, Bullets Chief Executive Officer Suzgo Nyirenda was not readily available for comment Friday.
Polokwane are on position 12 on the log table with 18 points from 12 matches.
