Chingale FC close in Simplex Nthala
Mozambique league giants, Chingale FC are on the verge of signing former Flames’ goalkeeper, Simplex Nthala, after the player was invited for discussions.
Nthala, who became a free agent after refusing to renew his contract with former Maputo club, Maxaquene, on Wednesday confirmed the potential transfer.
“They called me to have a talk with them. I am still here but I have not signed yet. I told them what I want and they said I should wait for the answer,” Nthala said in a written response.
On the local scene, Nthala was linked with a move to rookies Master Security FC.
If successful, Nthala will join his third Mozambican team having played for Liga Desportivo de Maputo (formerly known as Liga Mulcumana) and Vilankulo.
He was once voted as the best goalkeeper in the Mocambola League but he also made headlines for wrong reasons when he was banned for two seasons for attacking a referee.
Chingale have other Malawian players namely Ndaziona Chilemba, Joseph Kachule and Clement Ng’ombe.
The club tried to sign top local goalkeepers Richard Chipuwa of Be Forward Wanderers and Enerst Kakhobwe of Nyasa Big Bullets but the deals did not go through.
